Network to Handle Distribution and National Ad Sales

Agreement Covers Six Separate Programs PLUS New 24/7 Network

New York, NY – January 4, 2012 -- United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. (“USRN”), an independent leader in the creation and marketing of network radio programming, today announced a partnership with legendary broadcaster TOM KENT whereby USRN will take over the distribution and ad sales for the various successful program offerings from the Tom Kent Radio Network (“TKRN”).  The multi-year partnership agreement calls for United Stations to serve as TKRN’s advertising sales arm throughout the domestic U.S. as well as provide all satellite channels, commercial traffic, affiliate compliance and related technologies.  This announcement comes jointly from USRN’s Chairman/CEO Nick Verbitsky and TKRN’s founder and primary on-air talent, Tom Kent, and the partnership becomes effective on February 1, 2012.
Based in the Cleveland, Ohio, Tom Kent has been supplying radio stations with Classic Hits programming options since 2002.  The network, which was re-launched in March 2008 as the Tom Kent Radio Network, began by offering a weeknight block of programming hosted by Tom Kent airing from 7pm to Midnight.   The network quickly grew by adding specialized blocks of programming for both weekdays and weekends, and by early 2011, Tom Kent was able to introduce the “24/7 Fun” network providing radio stations with a round-the-clock programming option.   The complete Tom Kent Radio Network now includes:

- Tom Kent (Weeknights 7p-Mid)
- The Ultimate Party (5 hours on Saturday nights)
- My 70s Show (5 hours for weekends or as a Mon-Fri strip)
- Lovin’ Life, Livin’ in the 80s (5 hours for weekends or as a Mon-Fri strip)
- Your Live Request Show (a live daily request block)
- The Customized Linked Automatic System Solution (C.L.A.S.S.)
- 24/7 Fun

The last two offerings on the list above constitute unique platforms for content delivery with one of them, C.L.A.S.S., being completely customizable.  With C.L.A.S.S., TKRN can integrate Tom Kent’s national content into local stations music and playlists delivering his show to not only Classic Hits but to AC, CHR, and HOT AC stations as well.  The other, "24/7 FUN" started feeding a round-the clock Classic Hits format last April with all delivery handled via satellite.   The full-time 24/7 format features Bill Shannon mornings, Steve Kent and Jackie Newton middays and Tom Kent hosting late afternoons and nights.

Tom Kent grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and has been on the air since the age of 15.  It was always his dream to be on the radio, and prior to launching his national programs, Tom worked all over the country at great stations like WLS/Chicago, WAVA/Washington, WMJX/Miami, WGCL/Cleveland, B-94/Pittsburgh, KLIF/Dallas and WIBG/Philadelphia, and all of that experience has made Tom Kent one of the top entertainers in the medium.   His high energy style and quick wit have placed him among the elite of today's music radio personalities.   The Tom Kent Radio Network represents a culmination of a long-standing dream for Tom, and that dream has yielded lots of success.   With all programs combined, the Tom Kent Radio Network has amassed over 300 affiliates nationwide in just the past four years.

In making this announcement, USRN’s Nick Verbitsky expressed his excitement about the new deal commenting, “United Stations has always valued talent and hard work, and we’ve admired Tom Kent for a very long time because he embraces and delivers on those same ideals, and we’re looking forward to pairing our two organizations.”   Tom Kent added, “I’ve been blessed to have worked with some of the best folks in this business and no doubt I’m about to do the same thing yet again!  USRN has made it clear they are passionate about our products and with that, the future looks very bright!  Hold on, I gotta get my shades!”
United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. is America's leading independently owned and operated radio network.   USRN currently produces and distributes dozens of format-specific programs and services accounting for nearly 5500 affiliations with commercial radio stations across the country.  The New York-based company maintains programming, sales and affiliate marketing offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington and Nashville.   USRN was founded in 1994 by radio pioneers Dick Clark and Nick Verbitsky.
