New York, NY – JUNE 14, 2010 – Denny Somach Productions (DSP) today announced that it will feature a classic interview with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin conducted by legendary British bandleader Long John Baldry. The interview was conducted by Baldry in the late seventies at the peak of Zeppelin’s popularity. This intimate and revealing interview will be featured on Carol Miller’s Get the Led Out radio show the week of June 14, 2010 on the United Station’s distributed weekly Led Zeppelin Show. Long John Baldry (January 12, 1941 – July 21, 2005) was an English blues singer who sang with many British musicians, including Rod Stewart, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Jack Bruce, Charlie Watts and many others. In 1963, Baldry joined the Cyril Davis’ R&B All Stars with Jimmy Page on guitar. In 1964 he took over after the death of Cyril Davies and renamed the group Long John Baldry and his Hoochie Coochie Men featuring Rod Stewart on vocals. In 1966, Baldry formed Bluesology featuring Reg Dwight on keyboards and alto sax man, Elton Dean. Dwight adopted the name Elton John, his first name from Dean and his surname from Baldry. In the interview, Page discusses his early days playing with Cyril Davis, the formation of Led Zeppelin, his first tour as the New Yardbirds and many other stories.
